Bro. Stephen Pope
Stephen’s was born in Opp and raised in Elba. Graduated from Elba High School. He accepted Jesus at the age of 12. However, it was not until he was around 27 years old that he fully submitted to his Faith. This was a turning point in his life, and it led him on a path towards serving God in a more profound way.
In 2014, Stephen became the Youth Leader at Friendship Baptist Church. This was his first experience leading a Ministry, and it allowed him to develop his skills as a mentor and a teacher. He found joy in helping young people grow in their faith, and he saw the impact that God could have on their lives.
In 2016, Stephen was called to Damascus Baptist Church, where he served as the Youth and Associate Pastor. This was a new challenge for him, as he had never held a pastoral role before. However, he embraced the opportunity to serve in this capacity and learned a great deal about what it takes to lead a Church.
Stephen was Ordained as a Minister on August 11, 2019. In 2021, Stephen felt the call to become a Head Pastor. He knew that this was a significant step in his spiritual journey, and he began to pray for guidance on where he should serve. It was not long before an opportunity presented itself.
On November 6, 2022, Stephen was called to be the Head Pastor at FBC New Brockton.
